In an exclusive interview with Tamannaah Bhatia prior to the release of the Hindi version of Aranmanai 4 in theaters, the actor opened up on how the market and industry's perspective toward female-centric films have changed over the years.

To this, Tamannaah Bhatia said, “I think koi daur phir se wapas nahi aa raha lekin kuch naya shuru ho raha hai. The idea is not just female-led films. Who pehle bhi banti thi, aaj bhi ban rahi hai. The thing is what we were lacking in the system is that people weren’t putting enough money for us to make A- different kind of different genres of movies so we were restricted in what kind of movies matlab chhoti film banani padegi agar aurton ke saath bana rahe hot oh thodi chhoti banana padegi. Lekin abhi kya hoga, agar ye filme paise banayegi toh naturally log aisi filmo mein zyada invest karenge aur hum alag alag genres ko tap kar payenge toh ye hoga and isse kya hoga, I mean for example, Laapataa Ladies is the best example that it didn’t matter ke kis budget mein bani hai, kaise bani hai, who are the actors, none of that matters, they are only well-casted films, people who are deserving are in them, and the whole setup is just authentic. So I think authenticity is what’s going to sell today and it can be in the form of female-led films, it can be in the form of just good cinema.”
