Putham Pudhu Kaalai – Amazon Prime Video

Releasing this Friday on Amazon Prime Video, Putham Pudhu Kaalai is a Tamil anthology of 5 films based on the themes of new beginnings, love, second chances, and a glimmer of hope. Each short story of this film is created by 5 celebrated directors of Tamil cinema —Sudha Kongara, Gautham Menon, Suhasini Mani Ratman, Rajiv Menon and Karthik Subharaj. Add to that, this movie also features a stellar star cast along with a really soothing background score that compliments the film all the more.

Halal Love Story – Amazon Prime Video

As the name suggests, Halal Love Story is a hilarious and unique story of love and drama that takes us through the perfectly-imperfect journey of a group of cinema lovers from Kerala. The Malayalam movie is directed by the amazing Zakariya Mohammed himself and stars Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, Sharaf U Dheen, Grace Antony and Soubin Shahir in lead roles along with Parvathy Thiruvothu. This one is a perfect watch for a night in with your bae and will make you fall in love with love.

Ginny Weds Sunny - Netflix

This romcom by Netflix will take you back to the time when extravagant weddings, odd pairing, colorful sets and cheesy romance were our typical Friday release feels. Ginny Weds Sunny is a fresh rom-com starring Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey who have given some amazing performances in the past and continues to impress us through this movie as well. It’s an ideal binge-watch while you aimlessly scroll through channels to decide your next pick. Directed by Puneet Khanna, this movie will remind you of everything Bollywood.

Khaali Peeli – Zee5

Take it from a huge movie buff, this DTS release is everything you could expect from a Bollywood movie. It has masala, drama, an action-packed plot, all in all, it’s a full-on entertainer. Starring young talents like Ishaan Khatter, Ananya Panday along with the Paatal Lok fame Jaideep Ahlawat, this movie is directed by Maqbool Khan and has the potential of leaving you all smiling till the very end.

Bahut Hua Sammaan – Hotstar

Probably the most underrated movie of the lot, Bahut Hua Samman is a slice-of-life comedy that revolves around a planned bank robbery by two broke engineering students and a con man. A satire on the struggles of the youth, the movie is produced by Yoodle Films, who has in the past given us entertainers like Axone and Chaman Bahaar. Perhaps what gives an edge to this movie is its amazing cast that includes veteran actors like Sanjay Mishra and Ram Kapoor and the fact that it’s a heist comedy, which as a genre is very unexplored in India.
