You have played very strong female characters on OTT. In one of the web series you played a cop and in Kathmandu Connection you played a journalist. So, do you feel lucky to get such strong roles?

I absolutely have been lucky, and in fact both the times. When I did Jamtara it was a shock for me that the director thought about me as that particular character. And when it comes to Kathmandu Connection, our director saw me in Jamtara and that’s how he approached me to play Shivani, so again that was a shock because they are completely different characters. For them to even imagine a girl like me to play something like that, I feel I am lucky.

You have worked in South movies and now you have worked in Hindi films and web series. Is there any difference between both industries?

Absolutely! I did movies in the South which were in a very commercial space. We have grown up watching those kinds of films where the hero is hitting 10 people at one time and the heroine is just looking glamorous in the film. When I did that I was young and for me being a heroine in a film was a big deal. I enjoyed doing that for a while, but then came a time when I started to take my career very seriously, and I got lucky as I got opportunities like Jamtara and Kathmandu Connection which completely changed the way I look at my career. So, yes, for sure there’s a huge difference, not only in the South but in commercial cinema too. It is only about the heroine’s look and adding glamour to a project.

Tell us something about your upcoming projects, and any updates on Jamtara season 3…

Honestly, I don’t know about that (Jamtara 3) because we are not even at liberty to speak about it. I think the makers will take a call. I have completed a series called Rafu Chakkar with Maniesh Paul, it’s produced by Jio Studios, and I am doing another film for which I am shooting in Bangkok right now.
