National, April 4, 2020: Amazon Prime Video today announced the digital premiere of the latest periodic romantic drama Shikara. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film is a timeless love story that takes place in the most unfortunate of times. A story of a love that survives 30 years of exile, the epic saga stars newcomers Aadil Khan and Sadia playing the lead roles Shiv and Shanti. Starting April 4, Prime members in India can stream this film.

Shikara is a very special film to me,” Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, “I have wanted to tell the story of Kashmiri Pandits exodus for over a decade. I am glad I could finally bring this untold story of our exile to life with this film. Through Shikara, we aimed at spreading the message that there would be no hope left if all love is lost. It is a tale of resilience and love, in the most dire of circumstances. Something we all need an extra dose of now! I am happy that the viewers can now watch Shikara on Amazon Prime Video.

Shikara will join the thousands of TV shows and movies from Hollywood and Bollywood in the Prime Video catalogue. These include Indian-produced Amazon Original series like The Family Man, Mirzapur, Inside Edge and Made In Heaven, and award-winning and critically acclaimed global Amazon Original series, including Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Boys, Hunters, Fleabag and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, all on Prime Video, which is available at no extra cost for Amazon Prime members. The service includes titles available in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi and Bengali.
