MUMBAI: Several filmmakers try to give the audience stories that focus on the struggles of the underprivileged and how they overcome them. They convey strong social messages through short films that steal the audience’s heart with their crisp yet powerful story-telling.
Director Ashish Wagh has released a short film Soch which focusses on the age-old mantra of 'change your perspective, change the future'. Starring Sharib Hashmi in a pivotal role, the story is based on the life of a kid whose father is a trash collector.
The director has beautifully captured not only the relationship between a father and son but also the dilemma a child faces as to why his father is called a garbage man just because he takes the trash for everyone. When the son shares his concerns, his father explains to him why he is proud of his job and how no job is bigger or smaller no matter the demeaning others might think it is.
