MUMBAI: Ahead of the premiere of his next streaming series, "Call Me Bae," actor Varun Sood has stated that the show helped him realize how funny he is.
With his forthcoming streaming series "Call Me Bae" approaching, actor Varun Sood has revealed that the show has helped him realize he has a fantastic sense of humor.
At a media gathering in Mumbai, the actor revealed that he was unaware of his humorous side until recently. He said that his mother could think he's humorous, but he didn't give it much thought because moms usually think well of their kids.
In the show, Varun portrays a fitness instructor and a romantic interest of Ananya Panday, who plays the lead role of an affluent Delhi girl.
The title character of Ananya, Bae, comes from a wealthy Delhi family and was raised in a very guarded setting before having to relocate to Bombay. The show's trailer, which is slick, humorous, a little over the top, and self-referential, seems like fun.
Important roles in the series are also played by Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.
Varun Sood, who hails from Delhi, initially planned to follow his father and grandfather’s footsteps as join the Army but later changed his trajectory towards showbiz. He started his career as a fitness trainer, and went on to participate in reality shows like ‘MTV Roadies’, ‘MTV Splitsvilla’, ‘Ace of Space’ and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. He made his acting debut with ‘Ragini MMS: Returns.
