MUMBAI: Afreen Alvi is trying to make a strong mark in the industry with her acting contribution. The actress, who is known for her projects like Shaadi Teri Bajayenge Hum Band (2018), Naagin (2015), and Shubh Laabh Aapkey Ghar Mein (2021), always tries to deliver something different.
Over the years, Afreen Alvi has really made a name for herself and is climbing up the ladder of success and recognition. Soon, the actress will be seen in an upcoming OTT series Check Mate.

Tellychakkar got in touch with the actress where she gave some interesting insights when asked about her journey, her OTT series Checkmate and much more.
About her Journey
On this, Afreen Alvi said that she started her career taking up modelling job while she kept giving auditions as she always wanted to become an actor. Soon she got a part in movie Shaadi Teri Bajayenge Hum Band and while shooting of the movie take place in Delhi. She had to come to Mumbai for dubbing. After the movie released, she faced struggle living in Mumbai as it was a new place with new people, and still going to give auditions which fun and also a little stressing. She shared a house with a friend of hers. She started with modelling again while giving auditions, keeping an sim to get a part in movies while she kept getting offers from serials. She rejected the offers as she wasn't thinking about getting into serials at that point of time but as she discovered more about the TV industry, she accepted the cameo role in Naagin. After that came Shubh Laabh and now it's an OTT series, Checkmate.
About her character in Checkmate
On this, Afreen Alvi said that her character in the series is a little bit similar to the one she played in Shubh Laabh. Talking further about the character she said that the character is outspoken, a little bitchy, and classy. Afreen Alvi assured that we will get to see mix of emotions like her love, anger and many more emotions. She expressed her happiness for getting the series wherein she can explore so much.
Experience working in the series
On this, Afreen Alvi said that she was no was in the beginning as she was told that the sets of TV, the sets of movie and the sets of OTT are different but the team members were really good and very supportive. She added that her journey shooting the series was really good, she was treated well and even the makers loved her work.
