MUMBAI:Amey Wagh is one of the most popular names in the Marathi film industry. With his performance in movies and OTT series like Aiyyaa, Govinda Naam Mera, Cartel, The Great Indian Murder, Asur, and others, he has also left a mark in the Hindi sector.

Fans used to comment and tweet about when Asur 2 will premiere. How did you tackle that question of your fans on social media?

I was tired of that question because it was asked a lot. I was dealing with fans’ questions for the longest time about what will unfold in season 2 and what turn the storyline will take. So now, I am relieved and glad that all the necessary questions will now be answered in season 2.

You are mainly known for your comedy roles. So were you a bit surprised when the makers of Asur offered you the role?

It’s not like that I have played a variety of roles in Marathi films. But, playing the antagonist is something very new and it will be surprising for the audience, especially for the Marathi audience.

You are a famous name in the Marathi film industry and have done a few Hindi movies. But, why don’t we get to see you in more Hindi films?

It is difficult to juggle between both industries but I enjoy being challenged and put out of my comfort zone. I have a Hindi film coming in which I play the lead role, there’s aHindi web show and a Marathi movie coming this year. I have been shooting for them for the past year or so. I feel great about my work being appreciated by the masses.

Asur 2 will premiere on Jio Cinema on 1st June 2023.
