MUMBAI: A couple of weeks ago, a web series titled Garmi started streaming on Sony LIV. The series is created by Tigmanshu Dhulia and it stars Vyom Yadav, Puneet Singh, Disha Thakur, Pankaj Saraswat, Jatin Goswami, and others. 

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Puneet Singh and spoke to him about his journey, actors he wants to work with, and more... 

You play a negative role in Garmi and your performance is getting a good response. But, would you like to explore a positive role as well? 

I haven’t thought about it. Whatever role comes to me, I think that I must portray that and do justice to that character. So, I have not thought that I want to do a villainous role or I want to do a positive role. But, if I get a role as a protagonist, I will do that as well.

How did you start your journey as an actor?

In 2014, I started doing theatre, and to earn some money along with that, I used to do movies. I have done around 32-33 films in which I had a passing shot as a junior artist, and then I did roles with one or two lines, and later I got Helmet and Garmi in which I got good characters to play. In these nine years, I have done a lot of work. Some of the work I did for money and to make connections so that people will start knowing me and I knew if I get a chance I will leave a mark.

Do you have a list of actors you want to work with? 

I had a dream to work with Irrfan (Khan) sir but that didn’t happen. I like Manoj Bajpayee, Pankaj Tripathi, and there are many actors I want to work with.
