Tellychakkar got in touch with Srishti where she revealed about her first pay check, her fan moment and much more.
When was the first time you had a crush on someone?
My crush used to live downstairs in my building. We grew up together. Once in 7th grade, he was standing downstairs and I was going upstairs. He started singing “Mama told me, don’t be talking to a stranger”. That was my first crush.
Tell us about the first time you saw yourself on a big hoarding or a banner.
The first time I saw myself on a poster was when Dil Juunglee released. The movie was about to release and I was with my brother in Bandra. We were walking out after watching a stand up show. On the street, my brother calls me suddenly. I asked him what happened and he pointed towards the poster. We then clicked a picture.
When was the first time when you had a fan moment?
My fan moment was with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. When I met him for the first time, we were in his office. We were doing a reading of Gulabo Sitabo in Juhu. Later, I was sitting, tired, and the A.D. came and asked me if I am free. I said yes. He said we’re going to Mr. Bachchan’s house. Then, I instantly called my grandmother and the news spread around. We went to his office and we were all sitting. Someone came in and informed that he is ready. Later, we entered and he was in exact way how he is seen in movies – Shawl, Kurta and Pajama. He was standing with his backing facing us but then he turned around and my hair started to fly. Everything was happening in that moment. I was thinking, that he’s standing right in front of me, we’re going to sit and read scenes together. When I get nervous, I overcompensate. So, I was just sitting there and he asked why we aren’t we eating anything. I asked him what’s there to eat. I mean, who says that to Mr. Bachchan! He said there must be something for sure. I said alright then, I’ll have samosa. That was my biggest fan moment.
It even happened when I met Madhuri Dixit. I told her that I was in the same school as her. Later on, I was thinking who the hell talks like that.
Tell us about your first pay check.
In my early days, I did an advertisement. I got 5,000 rupees for that. I had to dance like crazy in the audience and I still took 50 takes.
