MUMBAI:  Harleen Sethi is known for her performances in series like Broken But Beautiful and Kathmandu Connection. She will next be seen in the OTT series Kohrra which is all set to premiere on Netflix on 15th July 2023. The series also stars Barun Sobti in the lead role.

What made you say yes to Kohrra?

The scenes that I got in the audition were very well-written. I cleared that first round, and then they sent me another scene which was a monologue, and again I read that scene and I was like ‘wow it’s just so beautifully written’. Later, I had a meeting with Sudeep sir and he is definitely one of those people I always wanted to work with. The entire setup was just right; it was Clean Slate Filmz, Sudip sir, Netflix, and actors like Barun. So, I was like why miss this opportunity.

Tell us something about your role in the series.

My character is called Nimrat. She is somebody who is not happy; she is carrying a lot of baggage of the past. She has seen a lot of abuse in her house and she is very resentful of her father; she has a very toxic relationship with her father. I think she has reached a point in her life where she is going to put herself first and she wants to be happy.

How easy or difficult was it to portray the character?

Very difficult! Her circumstances were very difficult, and to feel that kind of heaviness and baggage, and to carry it along and play that character every day, your aura has to be heavy. I was really carrying a lot of heaviness around me. I was purposely fighting with people around me so that I could feel resentful and angry. While I was playing the role, I was happy because I knew the opportunity that I had got, but once I gave it my all and wrapped up I was emotionally drained. So, it was difficult, but fulfilling.
