MUMBAI: Ekta Kapoor's reality show titled Lock Upp has 17 contestants locked in a jail set-up. They have to play the game and fight for getting bail to survive on the show.
Kangana Ranaut made her OTT debut with the show. The actress will be guiding the participants.
‘Lock Upp’ promises to be an engaging captive reality show with all the ingredients that will keep you glued to your seat. A daring celebrity host, compelling tasks, dramatic fights, and an exciting mix of contestants who will do anything and everything to survive in the show’s jail is the perfect amalgamation of entertainment.
To elevate their game, Karan Kundrra, the jailor, has entered the house to assign tasks to the inmates, but not in the Lock Upp house. The show also saw the entry of wild card Ali Merchant.
Olympic wrestler Babita Phoghat, who entered the show as the fourth confirmed contestant has sadly been evicted from the show.
In an exclusive conversation with us, Babita Phoghat spoke about her journey on the show, her relationship with Payal Rohatgi, her top three, and meeting her family.
Your journey on the show was limited unfortunately, but we did see a different side of yours. How has your journey on the show?
It has been a happy experience overall, but I was disappointed when I got evicted because I wanted my journey to be a little longer. The moment things started to make sense to me and when it was time to react, my journey on the show ended. And there were definitely people who scored lower than me, but unfortunately, my journey was short-lived. I didn't have anything planned, because it would not have worked out and things would have turned upside down. I have been able to make real relationships and real bonds because I was myself on the show. When you play the game in a real way, you make real friendships.
Payal was really upset when you got evicted. How was your bond with the contestants on the show?
I had a really good bond with Karanvir, Nisha, and Saisha as well. I did not have a friendship with Payal. I did like her, but it was more of a team leader and team member relationship. The interactions we had were limited and only work-related, especially because we wanted her to be calm, win the tasks, and be a team player. But Karanvir and Nisha were my friends, and our bond was very real.
Who according to you is playing a good game? Whom do you see in the top 3 now?
Munawar is playing the game because that is all he is focused on. I think Munawar is fake and he is not showing his real self. Karanvir and Saisha are very real and playing the game truthfully. They are not making relationships just for the sake of the game, but their bond is very real. They are probably my top 3 right now.
Soon, Indian film and television actor Chetan Hansraj will enter as a wild card.
