MUMBAI: Actress Sandhya Kute talks about her upcoming web series Mombian – Gul & Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story. She then speaks about the roles she is looking forward to, how she prepares for a role, and the directors with whom she wants to work with in the future.
What kind of roles you are looking forward to?
As an actor, I like to play mostly negative roles. I have also played many positive roles in my career. But personally, if you ask me what I like then it will be negative roles. Because I think I can express more with my facial expression and eyes.
Who are the actors you look up to as an inspiration?
There are no particular actors whom I look up to. But yes, when I see some great performances by the actors, I start researching about those characters, how they are portrayed on screen, their body language, and all. I like studying about that characters more.
How do you prepare for the roles?
I like to be prepared for my roles well in advance. So, when I am working for any Television show, I asked the production guys to send me the script in advance. I read the script and keep marking the places where I think, I have to pause or give a different expression. I like to do my homework so that when I go in front of the camera I don’t have to think about how my performance. It all comes naturally when I am well prepared.
Who are the directors you want to work with?
I want to work with Rajkumar Hirani sir. I like his films very much. I don’t think that I am good at comedy or the way he makes films. But yes, if given a chance I would definitely like to work with him.
