Now, we are back with exclusive news from the world of the digital medium. Ram Madhvani, the director of Aarya will soon roll out a new series on SonyLIV. The series is based on the historic Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which took place on April 13, 1919.
The series was initially scheduled for release on Disney+Hotstar, but it seems that there has been a change in the streaming platform.
According to our credible sources, actress Meenakshi Chugh has come on board for the show and will be seen playing a significant role in the series. Meenakshi is known for her stint in projects in the likes of Star Plus show Imlie, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, and The Kashmir Files among others.
The series is titled Waking Of a Nation.
Jallianwala Bagh traces the event of how a peaceful protest during the Indian Independence movement in Amritsar, Punjab turned into a horrific death trap when British troops surrounded the venue, blocked the exit, and opened fire.
