MUMBAI: Shernavaz Jijina has been a part of web series like Mirzapur 2 and Bang Baaja Baaraat. The actress is now gearing up for Mirzapur season 3 which is one of the most awaited web series.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Shernavaz and spoke to her about what kind of roles she looks forward to, directors she wishes to work with and more...
You have been a part of many popular web shows, so how did you get the opportunity to star in them?
I truly feel very fortunate that I could be a part of such important projects early on in my career. They have been a learning curve and have polished my skills as an actor. I was selected for Bang Baaja Baaraat early on when I started auditioning, and to this day, I feel lucky for that opportunity. After that, Mirzapur happened, and Shabnam's character has been a new learning curve for me. She is everything that I am not, so I had to work hard to understand who she is, where she comes from, and be in the character for some time to give my best. Until now, I was only getting inspired by various artists, journeys, and how they worked on their characters, but finally experiencing that myself has been very surreal.

As an actor, what kind of roles are you looking forward to?
For me, I feel like the journey has just started, so I look forward to playing characters where women are portrayed in a more empowering light, like a girl from a rural town fighting for a cause, an action film lead, being in a light-hearted rom-com, and many more.
You have just started your journey. So, do you have a wish list of actors and directors you dream to work with? Who are they?
Yes, there are so many. I love the work of all the directors across the industry. The narratives are so fascinating. So, if I have to pick a few, I would love to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rohit Shetty, Raj Kumar Hirani, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, and many more.
