MUMBAI: Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files received a great response at the box office last year. The movie starred Pallavi Joshi in a pivotal role, and now, they are coming up with a docuseries titled The Kashmir Files: Unreported.

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Pallavi Joshi and spoke to her about the series. When asked about the time when she and Vivek Agnihotri decided to make The Kashmir Files: Unreported, the actress revealed, “It was more or else around the same time when we were making the film, because when the script was done, we realised that there’s a lot research which cannot go in the film due time constrain. You just have three hours to show, and the movie was only concentrated on the genocide and exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. But, then there’s a vast reality about Kashmir.”

“There are a lot of topics that we didn’t touch upon in The Kashmir Files, so we decided to make a show. As the film was also produced by Zee, Zee5 became our partner. It’s been like over a year and a half now, and we have been working on it. Finally, on 11th August, the world will see,” she added.

The trailer of The Kashmir Files: Unreported showcases interviews of some real Kashmiri Pandits and what they went through, which is quite heart-wrenching. When asked Joshi about how difficult it was to do the research and take the interviews, she said, “It was terrible. I think the research started in 2019. Kashmiri Pandits don’t live in Kashmir anymore, they are scattered all over the world. So, we took a trip to US and UK, and a few parts of Europe. So, we went to each one's house and because we were on a very tight budget, we had to finish the interviews as soon as possible. We were doing four interviews a day, and every single account was more horrific than the others.”

“There were many horrific tales. We were taking interviews and we were doing this for four weeks. There was a point when I wanted to run away from all that, I can’t take such gruesome pain,” the actress added.
