Soon, a new series is about to be launched on the platform – Hack Crimes Online. The series is a crime thriller which is based on a novel by one of India's most respected cyber-crime investigators, Mr. Amit Dubey. The series features Vipul Gupta and Riddhi Kumar as leads and is directed by Parmeet Sethi.
Tellychakkar got in touch with the director of the series, Parmeet Sethi who opened up about the process of coming up with the idea of this project, his experience making the series and much more.
How was your experience directing the series?
The experience of directing the series was not only challenging physically but also mentally, to get all the technicalities right. At the same time, there was a fantastic producer Neeraj Pandey and Shital Bhatia, who are also very knowledgeable and creative producers. So it was something which I have never felt before. I think this was one of the best projects that I had directed. I really value and I’m very thankful for that.
What was your initial reaction when you heard about this project or was it your idea? How did this happen together?
We were discussing a lot of ideas and suddenly we realised that we are all surrounded by screens everywhere. Be it during education, be it at work, be it while sopping or entertainment, everywhere we have the use of screens now. People do not realise this and now they are slowly realizing that every screen can be hacked. We realized that this topic is the most current topic we can come across right now. That’s how the journey began. We were lucky enough to have access to Amit Dubey, he’s an ethical hacker, he has written a few books and has solved 2 live cases. So when we got access to his books and his story, we became even more interested and powerful in our journey as it was very helpful.
We have seen the movies you have directed and we have also seen you acting. What is it that you prefer, acting or directing?
I have to be thankful for whatever I get but if you ask me then number one is writing, number two is direction and number three is acting. I say that with reason because when you are writing you are actually conjuring something out of nothing and that is where an artist gets the maximum satisfaction because there is nothing in front of you and still you are creating something absolutely out of your imagination. After that direction because it’s a collaborative art and you are collaborating with so many other minds and so many other things to make this project happen. That is a very satisfying process. Then of course acting which is very individualistic and even that gives me the high but definitely in that order, writing, then directing and then acting.
This was our conversation with Parmeet Sethi, the director of the series.
