MUMBAI: With the trailer already having created a storm amongst viewers, ALTBalaji and ZEE5’s latest offering Baarish season 2 is all set to bring back the monsoon romance this summer. After a super-hit first season that delighted one and all, talented actor Sharman Joshi and the beautiful Asha Negi are back with the simple yet sparkling love story in the second instalment of Baarish. With one’s curiosity at its highest as they wait to know how the series unfolds, one can surely expect the second season to take the excitement quotient up another notch with the first six episodes streaming now on both ALTBalaji and ZEE5.  

The series also features a special cameo by the legend Jeetendra Kapoor along with a talented pool of actors like Priya Banerjee, Vikram Singh Chauhan, Manit Joura, Anuj Singh Duhan, Sahil Shroff, Shubhangi Latkar, Muni Jha, Benaf Dadachandji, Sheetal Tiwari, Poulomi Das, Abhishek Verma amongst others. 

The rain playing a pivotal role in this romance-drama, Baarish showcases the hardships of maintaining relationships and how the imperfect love story of Anuj (Sharman) and Gauravi (Asha) is defined by their responsibilities towards their respective families. The narrative between a Gujarati diamond merchant and a simple Marathi Mulgi entails the challenging journey of love and respect. As society continues to keep its prying eyes on the couple, season 1 ended at separation with Gauravi being behind the bars.  

The story is in continuation of the first season, where the audience will also see Anuj prioritizing work over Gauravi which makes them drift apart. The twist in the tale comes with the lawyer (Manit Joura) who becomes the third wheel between the couple leading to more misunderstandings. Jeetuji Gandhi played by none other than veteran actor Jeetendra Kapoor enters Anuj's life as a ray of hope. He is a veteran in the diamond business who volunteers to partner with Anuj while giving him some relationship mantra and plays cupid in their lives. Will Anuj and Gauravi reconcile once again or lead to separation? The audience will get answers to all their questions in the upcoming season.  

Speaking about the show, Sharman Joshi says, “It’s the love that the show garnered in its first season that has made Baarish what it is today. Viewers have related to the character of Anuj in a way I could have never imagined. That said, my character undergoes a complete transformation this season as it brings out a different facet of Anuj’s personality to the audience. Anuj has changed with time and I hope people like what they see. Lastly, I look forward to the show keeping up the momentum this season as well and hope that viewers like the second season as much as they loved the first one.”
