I too had lost money in the Harshad Mehta scam: Paresh Ganatra on being a part of Scam 1992

MUMBAI: Paresh Ganatra has done a wonderful body of work on television.

He has been a part of various comedy shows and the audience has loved watching him in shows such as Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo, Chidiya Ghar, Comedy Nights with Kapil and more recently, he was seen in SAB TV’s Bhakharwadi. He has also played various characters in Bollywood movies such as No Entry and Rowdy Rathore. With the evolution of the OTT medium, there are a lot of webseries being launched and one of the recent ones was Scam 1992, a drama web-series directed by Hansal Mehta. The series is based on a 1992 Indian stock market scam committed by stockbroker Harshad Mehta.

In an exclusive conversation with Paresh, he spoke about being the victim of the scam and also his experience shooting for the project.

Paresh said, “I have had a wonderful experience and the reason I associated with the project is because it was working with Hansal Mehta. Also, before entering the media line, I was a financial professional working with the Aditya Birla Group and I was active when the Harshad Mehta scam happened and I too lost money in the scam. I wanted to be a part of the project and since I have the financial expertise, it was interesting to be a part of the project. Another reason is that this role was not a comic one. Working with Hansal Mehta and the entire team has been a wonderful experience.”
