MUMBAI : In the new series Jai Jagannath, Sharad Malhotra plays the celestial character of Lord Krishna. The drama tells the incredible story of Lord Jagannath in a distinctive and compelling way.
Jai Jagannath explores the fascinating tale of how Lord Krishna's heart was placed into a piece of sacred wood, leading to the construction of the well-known Jagannath temple.

The program tells this incredible story on a grand scale for the first time, delving into the intricate network of devotion, ancient history, and heavenly interventions that surround the mythology of Lord Jagannath.
Along with Sharad Malhotra in the lead role, the series has an ensemble cast that includes significant roles from Jiya Chauhan, Kunal Singh Rajpoot, Tarun Raj, and Shrishti Maheshwari.
In an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar, Sharad opened up on playing Lord Krishna and if he took inspiration from anyone who has enacted the role in the past.
Sharad mentioned, “In this role, I had categorically been told to wear a smile on my face constantly. Be it someone who is laughing or crying, I have to keep smiling throughout.
When asked that there are many actors from Nitish Bhardwaj to Sourabh Raaj Jain who have played Krishna on-screen, he looked for inspiration and took reference for acting. Sharad shared, “I have seen Nitish ji and he has created a benchmark with his acting skills. Sourabh too did a fantastic job. It was only recently that I spoke to Sumedh Mudgalkar and I asked him how he managed to pull off playing Lord Krishna so beautifully.”
He added, “The beauty is actually that whenever you feel sad, you can open a chapter and refer to any of his lines of wisdom and you will be able to motivate yourself.

There are always some characters played by actors who touch the hearts of the viewers forever and Sumedh has done that playing Lord Krishna.”
