Kaajal Shankhwaarr: I cannot imagine a life without acting or showbiz

MUMBAI: Actress Kaajal Shankhwaarr, who is part of KINK 2, says that getting into acting was destined for her. She recollects how she was offered a role while working in a corporate job, and things unravelled for her, from there.

“I am from a small town called Etawah in UP, where I completed my schooling. After 12th grade, I started working at a call centre, then moved to the corporate world, where I made Diwali gifts, sold mobile SIMs, and worked at a staff hiring agency. Acting was never my forte; I wanted to become a choreographer. But one day, a producer approached me and asked if I wanted to play the role of a boxer in a film, and that’s how I got into acting,” she says.

She adds, “I cannot imagine a life without acting or showbiz. I have always wanted to be in this industry.”

Talking about her journey, she says, “I have done a lot of reality shows and now KINK 2. Every time, I went a little viral with these roles. My first break happened when a producer offered me a role in a film as a boxer, and from there, my journey into acting began.”

Talking about KINK 2, she says, “The producer of KINK 2 saw my previous work and was impressed. I had done a show called Black Coffee, but due to some issues where I raised my voice, I was hesitant to do KINK 2 since Ullu and Atrangii are owned by the same founder. However, the producer, insisted that I take up the show. I signed it just three days before we flew to Vietnam for the shoot.”

She adds, “The way they are promoting everyone is different; I am not being promoted in the same way. I was only featured on a Women's Day poster and one billboard, but not on the other official posters. I know how much effort I have put into my role, and I always give my 100 per cent. Let’s see what happens when I appear in the 11th episode.”

Sharing what she wants to do next, she says, "My goal is to serve people and do social service. I like to live lavishly, but I have worked hard for it. I also want to do Bigg Boss because it opens up many opportunities, including a potential political career. Additionally, I want to pursue a political career in Uttar Pradesh as I wish to change certain laws that I believe can make a significant impact. If something really good comes up, I am open to it.”
