MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starter much-awaited movie Laxmii premiered today and here is its much anticipated review.
Bollywood's most anticipated and the biggest commercial movie of 2020, Laxmii just dropped off on Disney+Hotstar today. This horror-comedy stars Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, Manu Rishi Chadha, Tarun Arora, Sharad Kelkar, and others and is directed by the south fame Raghava Lawrence.
The story begins with a family who is trying to mend thing with each other to celebrate a function, but during this process, Asif played by Akshay Kumar by mistakenly commit a mistake after which the family goes through difficult times and how the certain events which occurred in the past come to haunt the family, is the main storyline of the movie Laxmii.
The screenplay of the movie is decent enough to hold your attention and does not let you bore, but the jokes at a few points look very forceful and may not appear funny to you, The dialogues of the movie are very average and there is no such dialogue which we walk out with. The direction done by Raghava Lawrence was good timed and there are few horror sequences in the movie which will give you a few scary moments.
Talking about the performances Akshay Kumar has given one of the best of his career. We can see many different shades of the actor in this movie and a special mention about the acting of a Transgender was very well done. Kiara Advani was noticeable in the movie but, the actress had nothing much to do with her character but the surprise factor of the movie is Sharad Kelkar with his amazing acting and once again proved his versatility.

The positive points of the movie are the screenplay which holds your attention and does not let you get bored even for once. With the stellar performances by Akshay Kumar and Sharad Kelkar, the storyline of transgender is something new in Bollywood and we will surely see something new and different in this movie.
The negative points of the movie are few unnecessary jokes which may not give you laughter and look a little forceful at few points, songs are too good in the movie, but the songs are not at all situational and look out of context. The only song which fits the whole story is Bam Bholle which has the capability to give you goosebumps.
Overall, the movie Laxmii is a one-time watch and can be watched with your family. The movie will take you on horror and funny ride despite a few loopholes.
Team TellyChakkar goes with 3 stars for Laxmii.
