MUMBAI: Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore is set to return to films after 11 years as she will be seen playing the grand matriarch of the Batra family in 'Gulmohar'.
The film, directed by Rahul Chittella, also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Simran Singh Bagga, Amol Palekar, and Suraj Sharma and will release in August.

The film tells the story of the multi-generation Batra family which is set to move out of their 34-year-old family home. The movie sets the motion for a re-discovery of the bonds that have held them together as a family while grappling with personal secrets and insecurities.

The first trailer for ‘Gulmohar’ was released recently and has left the audience spellbound with its majestic feel.
The response to this has been overwhelming and fans have been waiting eagerly to see the combination of Sharmila Tagore, and Manoj Bajpayee together.
The Gulmohar Team has launched the second trailer today at an event in Delhi as a result of the phenomenal response to the first trailer.
Woven around the beautiful and soulful song Dilkash, sung by Talat Aziz, the emotional trailer reveals the Batra Family in various moods. Gulmohar trailer explores family relationships, peppered with confusion as well as harmony.
Since it is the Holi season, the cast impromptu celebrated Holi at the event by putting color on everyone's faces, just as Sharmila Tagore did in the movie, and Manoj Bajpayee threw flower petals at his family and journalists, and danced a little to the Hori Mein song from the film, creating a festive atmosphere.
The atmosphere on the trailer launch was ecstatic and fans were just waiting to watch the show.
The show releases on Disney Plus Hotstar and starts streaming in August.
