Must Read! I try not to make my actors angry: Tigmanshu Dhulia on casting Richa and Pratik in The Great Indian Murder

MUMBAI: Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia was present to promote his upcoming web series The Great Indian Murder. During his conversation with an Entertainment portal, Tigmanshu was asked what inspired him to make a web series on the book which is already been launched. The filmmaker said it is written by Vikas Swarup who has also written his first book Slumdog Millionaire. That was the greed which I won't deny, which I am sure everyone will have. But if the novel had been bad I won't have made it in the web series. The novel is fantastic and everyone enjoys reading it.

He further adds, secondly, whenever I try to make any film, I first see the geography of that content because that gives me the boost to think visually about the content. So as a director, I found all those materials in the novel. But when the novel is adapted there will be some new things added to it. So, I took permission from Vikas sir, that if I can do some changes in the script, will he mind. He gave me full permission to do the changes. So I did the changes and showed him. Basically, everything was sorted with him and me and hence we moved forward to make the web series.

He was then asked about, how was his experience of working with Richa Chadha and Pratik Gandhi. Tigmanshu said I give the most important to the actors in my filmmaking process. Because acting is the only thing that cannot be judged by the machine. Actors do magic, the audience judges any actor by their performance. So I try not to make my actors angry. I don't want my actors to go to their make-up van and come back in a bad mood. So, try to make my actors happy. Richa and Pratik both have theatre backgrounds, There you get the liberty of improvising your skills. So I always believe that good actors also have the quality of good writers who help them to improvise on the spot. So as a director, I give them full liberty to perform as they wish, if I think there are some changes required then only I give my input.
