Scam: 1992 – The Big Bull

Pratik Gandhi starrer Scam: 1992 was based on the scam done by stockholders including Harshad Mehta. While the series premiered in 2020, a movie based on the same subject titled The Big Bull was released on OTT in 2021. It starred Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role.

The Verdict State vs Nanavati – Rustom

Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz starred in Rustom which was loosely based on the K. M. Nanavati vs State of Maharashtra court case. On the same concept, a web series titled The Verdict State vs Nanavati was made.

Indian Predator: Murder in a Courtroom – 200 Halla Ho

Last year on Zee5, a movie titled 200 Halla Ho was released. It starred Amol Palekar and Barun Sobti in the lead role and was based on a incident where 200 women lynched Akku Yadav a serial rapist in an open court in Nagpur in 2004. Now, a few days ago, a web series titled Indian Predator: Murder in a Courtroom started streaming on Netflix which was on the same concept.

Avrodh – Uri: The Surgical Strike

Uri: The Surgical Strike starring Vicky Kaushal was a blockbuster at the box office. It was based on the surgical strike that the Indian Army did during after the terrorist attack at Uri. A web series titled Avrodh was also made on the same real incident.

26/11 Mumbai Diaries – The Attacks of 26/11

Ram Gopal Varma had made a film titled The Attacks of 26/11 and later we saw many films made on the same subject. Even web series 26/11 Mumbai Diaries was set against the backdrop of 26/11 terrorist attacks that took place in 2008.

MOM – Mission Mangal

In 2019, Mona Singh and Sakshi Tanwar starred in a web series titled MOM which was based on ISRO’s Mars Orbiter Mission. In the same year, Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starred in Mission Mangal which was also based on the same mission.
