MX Player launches web series titled Tandoori Idly

Another interesting web series has being launched by MX Player. It is titled Tandoori Idly.

MUMBAI: In diametrically opposite directions, the North and the South have always been far apart, but what happens when a fun-loving and cheerful North Indian girl from Delhi somewhat 'disrupts' the South Indian office culture with her energy? Better even – what happens when a budding romance emerges out of this situation? Leading entertainment streaming platform MX Player brings to you an ordinary, yet an extraordinary story with An MX Exclusive and Mirchi Play Original ‘Tandoori Idly’. This romantic comedy is about a North Indian girl who joins an IT office in Chennai.

Portraying the character of the North Indian girl, Simran, is Avantika Mishra. Talking about her character and the show, the actress shares, 'I love every bit of this series, especially the title – Tandoori Idly. The title in itself is quirky and makes people curious about what’s in it for them. I play Simran, a North Indian girl who has shifted her base to Chennai to pursue her career. A dose of entertainment is a must in people’s lives, especially during trying times like these and our series Tandoori Idly offers exactly that!'

Playing the love interest of Simran is Selvam, a Chennai boy. The character is played by Ajai Prasath. Sharing more, he adds, 'The series Tandoori Idly is a bite-sized comedy series that’ll keep you engaged and interested in what’s happening. The struggles of being an outsider to finding that very person whom you can trust, is a beautiful journey which is showcased in our series. I hope audiences enjoy it.'

This six-episodic light-hearted series is directed by Devanshu Arya and A.L. Abanindran. The former said, 'Web is a platform that allows you so much creative liberty to tell different stories which would not suit the sensibilities of TV content or films. Working on this fun filled story was a delightful experience and I hope the viewers enjoy this series as much as we enjoyed while making it.'

Along with Ajai Prasath and Avantika Mishra, the series also sees Vikkals Vikram, Vinod Kumar, Whatsaap Mani, Suhasini Sanjeev, and Mirchi Saba, amongst others in pivotal roles.
