MUMBAI: Nakaab starring Mallika Sherawat, Esha Gupta, Gautam Rode and Ankitaa Chakraborty has finally hit the digital screens all across the globe. The series which has been the talk of the town ever since the trailer was out is finally premiered. Directed by Soumik Sen the series is an investigative thriller which promises a lot of twists and turns from the trailer.
Talking about the story of the series, it begins with sudden untimely death of a popular actress Vibha Dutta, and to investigate this case comes into picture Inspector Pawan Bisht played by Gautam Rode and Sub Inspector Aditi Amre played by Esha Gupta. How the police try to cross the path of Zohra Mehra who is a big producer and star maker in the television industry. What is the real reason behind the death of superstar actress Vibha Datta, is it a murder or suicide or an accident is something shown in the web series.
The screenplay of the web series is very slow. The story takes off very slowly, the screenplay looks very complex and the direction given by Soumik Sen is strictly average.
Talking about the performances, actress Esha Gupta is not doubt one of the hottest and finest actresses we have in Bollywood industry, she has tried her level best to portray the best of Aditi Amre, but looks very confused. On the other hand actor Gautam Rode as the Inspector Pawan Bisht has few amazing dialogues and strong screen presence, but failed to grab the attention. No doubt actress Mallika Sherawat is the showstopper of the series. It is a treat to watch the actress in the web series. On the other hand actress Ankitaa Chakraborty was decent on her part.
The positive point of the series can be the unique plot, ever since trailer was out in the plot of murder/suicide/ accident, made a great impact on the audience. Also as mentioned actress Mallika Sherawat in the web series is one of the USPs of the show. The efforts from both the actors Gautam Rode and Esha Gupta can be clearly seen; they have tried their level best to portray their character.
Talking about the negative points of the series, it is mainly the execution and the screenplay. The execution of the series lacks at many points. Also the screenplay is very loosely written. The screenplay is very complex and you may fail to understand what is happening in the show. The direction is very poor on the other hand. Every character in the show looks very confused and the character graph is lost in this show.
Well having said all these points, Nakaab is a good concept driven web series with poor execution.
Team TellyChakkar goes with 2.5/5 for Nakaab.
