MUMBAI: ALTBalaji recently made an announcement about its upcoming magnum opus titled Paurashpur. It is a period drama produced by Sachin Mohite under his banner Jaasvand Productions.
ALTBalaji has now announced another series titled A Married Woman. The series is based on Manju Kapoor’s book and is a story that throws the conventional understanding of love stories out of the window.
The story cherishes a deep bond between Monica Dogra, and Ridhi Dogra in lead roles, and promises a liberation for the soul of many from the societal pressure, and ideas about love, and a solace for those who seek refuge from political persecution.
Along with Monica and Ridhi, the series will also star actors namely Suhaas Ahuja, Rahul Vohra, Imad Shah, Divya Seth and Samridhi Dewan.
Now the latest buzz is that actor Preet Grewal who is known for her roles in Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka and recently shot for a comedy feature film with Rajpal Yadav, Sonam Bewafa Hai with Surbhi Jyoti and Jassi Gill has now bagged a prominent role in Alt Balaji's A Married Woman.
The actress will be playing the role of Monika Dogra's friend in the web show.
A Married Woman, written by Manju Kapur, is a story of Astha, a middle-class Delhi woman with kids and a loving husband, who gets into an unconventional relationship with a younger woman. The story is set at a time of political and religious turmoil. The book is set against a backdrop of the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992. This is not the first time that Ekta Kapoor has chosen Manju Kapoor’s book for screen adaptation. Yeh Hai Mohabbatein was based on Kapur’s popular book Custody.
The show will be produced by Juggernaut Productions and directed by Sahir Raza.
