MUMBAI: Ritwik Bhowmik has impressed one and all with his performances in movies and web series like Maja Ma, Bandish Bandits, The Whistleblower, and others. He will next be seen in Jehanabad which is slated to premiere on Sony LIV on 3rd February 2023.

What made you say yes to the project?
In my case, I would say that the project chose me. I had auditioned for it and then it worked out that way. I am looking for a time when someone says there’s no need to audition.
Jehanabad is based on a real-life incident, so did you follow the showrunner and the director’s vision or did your research on the topic?
Most of the research that we needed was there in the script. It was full of all the information that we genuinely needed to make sure that the story is told right. Other than that, honestly, to understand the geography of the politics there and the history of the event like what had happened and why a little bit of research I had done just for me to understand the world I am getting into. It’s a fictional show, it’s a story that has been written, but it is based on one real event and the entire story is inspired by it. Actually, not one event; one event is of jailbreak and the romance story that you will see is also inspired by some people that Rajiv sir, our writer, and director, met. So, there was not much research required, but understanding it was required.
What’s happening next after Jehanabad?
Multiple things, but there are a few things that I can’t speak about right now which definitely when the time comes you will be the first one to know. But, one thing that everybody already knows is that the second season of a very popular show (Bandish Bandits) is being shot right now.
