MUMBAI: Actress Shivangi Verma, who has been part of the web series Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor, says that this is the perfect time for those actors to shine who want to do something different. She adds that OTT has increased the number of options today.
“With the growth of OTT, I see a bright future for actors who want to do something out of the box. There are more roles, more content, and more chances to showcase your talent. But, of course, not every project becomes a hit. With so many shows streaming every week, competition is tough. I think it just means that quality matters more now. People have so many options, so they are looking for shows that have a good story and good performances. As an actor, it pushes me to do my best and pick projects that stand out. It’s challenging but exciting at the same time,” she says.
She says that the medium has opened up the audience also to different types of content. “It’s true that OTT platforms have a lot of bold content, and yes, it has become quite normal for the audience. I think people are now more open-minded, and they want to see stories that are realistic and truthful, even if they are bold. It’s not just about being bold for the sake of it; it’s about telling a story without sugarcoating. Of course, not all stories need to be bold, but when it is, it should have a reason. As an actor, I believe it’s important to be comfortable with the content you are part of and understand the message behind it,” she says.
