MUMBAI: TellyChakkar has been on the forefront reporting exclusively about OTT platforms and its upcoming projects.  

We recently broke the news about actor Ranvir Shorey and Mahabharat fame Arav Chowdharry, being roped in for ZEE5’s upcoming web-series titled Sunflower (Read here: Arav Chowdharry joins ZEE5’s Sunflower)

Now we hear that actress Shonali Nagrani, who is currently creating waves with her character as Aditi in Amazon Prime’s Tandav, has been roped in for the series.

We could not get through her for a comment.

It is a crime comedy set in a middle-class housing society in Mumbai called Sunflower. The series is written by Filmmaker Vikas Bahl, the director of Bollywood hit films Queen and Super 30. It is co-directed by Rahul Sengupta and is produced by Reliance Entertainment and Good Co.

There have been reports about comedian and actor Sunil Grover being roped in for this forthcoming series. Grover recently made a small screen comeback with the show Gangs of Filmistaan on Star Bharat, where he played the role of a don named Bhindi Bhai. The actor has also worked in films such as Bharat, Gabbar is Back and Baaghi.

With production underway, Sunflower is slated for an April 2021 release.
