He stated, “Honestly, it was the script that worked for me. I was motivated to do this since script was really good. It’s like half your job done as an actor. When it is helmed by such a prolific director like Vikas Bahl and he himself is very thrilled to tell a story through your character, you are automatically drawn to do it. I found my character intriguing. It is interesting to see that how takes the blame on himself unknowingly and he still thinks innocent in his head.”
He also added,“I felt very easy with my character. We did a workshop with Vikas for almost a week and we realised that it’s not an easy character. He might look very simple but he is very smart. It was challenging for me initially but I got it right on 3-4th day of the shoot.”
He spoke about his to try to break his comedic reputation with Bharat and Jawan, “Jawan and Bharat were offered to me and I always wanted to do mainstream films like these. Also, I wanted to work with these superstars. I did it for my own personal experiences.”
The actor also spoke about whether SRK is aware of what is up to right now, “He is aware of what I do. It is so motivating to get compliments from him. He had come for a lot of my comedy shows too. It feels good that a superstar like him gives you wishes.”
He sheds light on how a show like Sunflower wouldn’t have done well a few years ago perhaps on a big screen when OTT wasn’t a thing, “I do agree that it is a more satisfying time for actors. Sometimes with theatricals, sequels do work too like Godfather. Platforms might be new but the kind of storytelling is very relevant today. Mass production is happening since makers have opened up now.”
“I completely believe that no network makes second season if the first one isn’t profitable. The first season of Sunflower got tremendous love. Over the last couple of years, so many people came and asked me that when the second season is coming. It has been a long wait for the second season.”
He also joking revealed that crossdressing cab be game changer, “Har mard ke success ke peeche ek aurat ka haath hota hai.”
