MUMBAI: Readers will be surprised to know that the deeply moving monologue by Manny, the character played by Sushant Singh Rajput in Dil Bechara, was not in the actor’s voice at all. That exceptional montage of dialogues was dubbed by a voice actor in Dil Bechara!
The makers of Dil Bechara, Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film, had to rope in a voice artist to dub for the actor in the movie. Sushant Singh Rajput, the heartbeat of millions of Indians, had passed away without completing the dubbing of crucial parts of the movie. Producer Mukesh Chhabra was in a fix, as one of the most crucial parts in Dil Bechara still remained to be dubbed — Sushant Singh Rajput’s character Manny’s extremely moving monologue towards the end of the movie. Thus launched a search for a suitable voice actor to dub Sushant Singh Rajput’s remaining dialogues in Dil Bechara.
Luckily for Mukesh Chhabra, voice actor Aditya Chaudhary, popularly known as RJ Aditya, presented a perfect match. He was sent a clip of Sushant Singh Rajput’s dialogues from his film, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. After several recordings, RJ Aditya was able to perfectly match up to Sushant Singh Rajput’s voice.

The end result is that almost no one could make out that Sushant Singh Rajput’s monologue at the end, as well as dialogues in several other scenes, had not been uttered by the late actor himself, but by a voice actor.
The decision to release Dil Bechara on Disney Plus Hotstar was taken after Sushant Singh Rajput’s passing away. The streaming platform did its bit in Sushant’s memory, by making the movie free to watch for all. Everyone could watch Dil Bechara on the Disney Plus Hotstar app, regardless of whether they had a subscription or not.
So tell us in the comments, did you realise that RJ Aditya had dubbed for Sushant Singh Rajput in Dil Bechara? We certainly did not!
