MUMBAI: The latest streaming platform to join the 2nd October party is Disney Plus Hotstar. Its latest Bollywood direct to digital release, Bahut Hua Samman, will premiere on its Disney Plus Hotstar VIP platform on 2nd October, adding to an already packed day. As readers may know, every top streaming platform has a prestigious release on 2nd October, a national holiday in India.

Not only the release date, Disney Plus Hotstar has also released the trailer of Bahut Hua Samman, which, at first glance, seems to be a full on laugh riot! Dancer-turned-actor Raghav Juyal and Abhishek Chauhan (Undekhi, Cubicles fame) play two engineering students who haven’t been able to get placed in a job.

The duo is picked up by a conman, played by Sanjay Mishra, to carry out a bank robbery for him, from a plan chalked out by Mishra’s character himself. What follows is chaos, mayhem and a hilarious turn of events.

Various characters flit in and out of the 2&1/2 minute trailer, adding to the fun. Nidhi Singh makes an appearance as a no-nonsense police officer, with a kickass attitude. And she kicks serious ass, along with making us laugh with her typical UP way of talking.

Ram Kapoor‘s character is not very clear in the trailer, but his presence on the screen is electrifying. Whatever his role may be, he’s worth the watch. Sanjay Mishra, of course, is brilliant as always.

From the looks of the trailer, Bahut Hua Samman has all the makings of a fun-filled entertainer, along the same lines as Disney Plus Hotstar’s July release, Lootcase.

The movie has been produced by Yoodlee Films, and is set in the backdrop of the city of Varanasi. It is directed by Ashish Shukla, and written by Avinash Singh and Vijay Narayan Verma.

Bahut Hua Samman premieres on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP on 2nd October. Have a look at the trailer below –
