In an exclusive interview with Fardeen Khan for the release of his new web series, Heeramandi, on Netflix, we put the actor on the hot seat and quizzed if he found any similarities between working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his comeback and father Feroz Khan in his debut.
To this, Fardeen Khan said, “Definitely filmmaking wasn’t a job for my father and neither is it for Mr. Bhansali. It’s their life and they breathe cinema and they’ve educated themselves so deeply about every aspect of filmmaking and storytelling process that you know you really really…it inspires you to try and reach their standard and learn from them and they demand the best from you and they’re always exploring different ways to present characters or you know they have this whole approach of learning technique, refining. I mean if you look at the evolution of my father’s films and even with Mr. Bhansali’s I mean they’ve grown in scales and scopes and complexity and you know and that’s just you know they just love what they do and want to be the best at what they do and for anyone who gets their chance to work with people who’ve mastered their crafts, it is truly something to be very grateful for and you have to just take it as a great learning opportunity. I mean when you work with people who are so committed to what they do, it affects you and changes you in ways that sometimes you realize instantly and sometimes it’s after a while you get to know yes but you never come out being the same person again and that’s been my experience.”
