MUMBAI: When it comes to nailing a look, our telly and Bolly succeed in it like pros. Be it ethnic, modern or fusion, these stars endorse the themes like they own it! Coming to garments, our stylish divas love to play with their fashion senses and tastes by experimenting with the various garments by following different style statements, in order to break the already existing trends to establish the latest ones by proving their versatility time and again!

Coming to the various forms of outfits ranging from trads like sarees and lehenga-choli to the western ones like Tees, pants, skirts, dresses, gowns, etc. the telly divas look fabulous in whatever they wear and give their fashion-sense remarkable twists like blending both the styles together to create the fusion-look like pairing jackets-styled tops with lehengas, wearing tee-patterned blouses with sarees, pairing blazers with sarees or even T-shirts with ethnic-styled embroidered patiala-pants (also called harron pants).

Today, lets' focus on hardcore denim garments, which almost everybody (be it telly stars or commoners) possess as the common garment in their wardrobes. For the unversed, the raw material that goes behind weaving a denim cloth is the basic 'cotton-fibre', which is woven into threads and further, cross and/or twill-woven into tough fabrics which are primarily dyed in blue colour, hence most denim fabrics and garments are blue in colour.

For a quick trivia, denim garments were solely initially introduced in the form of pants and only for the miners in Africa, who had to work in the mines under obnoxious conditions to extract diamonds and other precious gems and stones during the colonial period. The usage of cotton made their pants wearable under hostile conditions and circumstances. Later on, due to it's super easy wear-and-tear virtue, easy maintenance over long periods and its adaptation of elasticity, the American civilians first endorsed denim-wear as regular garments, which with the progressive impact of westernisation and urbanisation, took over the entire world as the most welcomed foreign garment which could be used as regular-wear, thus, replacing the locally available traditional garments of bare cloths or pants made of more delicate fabrics that were used to cover the lower-part of the human body. With the majority of the world being patriarchal in nature, denim ware was first widely endorsed by men. Later on, with various social-welfare and equality demanding revolutions based on gender neutrality and women empowerment, even girls replaced their traditional wrapper-style (like sarees, kimonos, etc.) and femininely stitched garments like corset-gowns with denim pants. With the upsurge in the concept of body-positivity globally, makers fused elastic fibres with cotton fibres to create more elastic and breathable denim fabrics, which are extensively used nowadays to create elastic and easy-fit denim garments of various cuts and designs for different body types and structures.

Lastly, apart from the traditional denim pants, a variety of denim garments are being widely used by the public like denim jackets, shirts, skirts, bermudas and joggers, jeggings, hoodies, dresses, etc. Also, over time, the traditional denim pants have undergone major changes, such that nowadays, a variety of fits, cuts and customised designs are available for everybody. Even denim shoes have grabbed massive attention worldwide and the brand responsible behind this revolution is 'Converse'.
