Isn’t Barkha Bisht a total hottie? Her figure is not only favoured by the guys, but also sought after by the girls.
The pretty actress, currently seen on Sony TV’s Hanuman as Anjani, has always managed to stay in shape. Definitely it takes lot of effort and proper fitness regime to flaunt such a figure, especially after becoming a mum!
Here’s a treat for all our lovely readers. Barkha shares five tips to have a flat and ‘sexy’ belly like her. Over to her…
Plank exercise
Lie face down and then lift your body on elbows. Then lie parallel to the floor and stay that way for as long as you can. This exercise will strengthen your core muscles. To make it tougher, I make my three-year-old daughter sit on my back while I do this.
Hanging legs
Hang on a bar and pull yourself up in a pull-up position. Arms at a 90 degree angle and raise your legs in front of you and sideways. This will work for your lower abdomen muscles as well as increase your core strength.
Reverse crunches
Lie face down with your legs on a workout ball and your palms on the floor. Then pull your body up from the center, forming an A. Pulling the ball in towards your stomach. The exercise is for core and back!
Interval meals
Make sure you eat a meal around 4pm, anything small like a fruit or some nuts or a slice of low fat cheese. This boosts your metabolism and balances blood sugar. The lower your blood sugar the lower your insulin. And remember, insulin stores fat around the middle.
Run
Sprinting will give you a toned stomach and long distance running will maintain it. I run every alternate day and it does wonders. Most important thing is that a flat tummy doesn't mean never ending abs exercise. That's what people think, but without cardio or losing the fat layer of the stomach, you won't have any abs to show even if you do crunches or leg raises. And you should always choose an exercise, which involves your core. That way you don't really have to give too much exclusive time to your abs.
