I follow the mantra, ‘My stomach is not a dustbin’: Amit Pachori

The suave and burly Amit Pachori is one of the finest actors in the Indian television industry. With his acting skills and his macho looks, Amit has excelled roles in shows like Jhansi Ki Rani, SuperCops Vs SuperVillains and more. He is currently seen essaying the role of Bhim Singh Ahlawat in Sony TV’s Jaat Ki Jugni.

TellyChakkar.com spoke to the hunky actor on how important fitness is to him. Read on..

What does fitness mean to Amit? “Fitness is everything to me. It’s my kind of makeup. I believe that if you’re fit, you can do everything. There are no limitations to your capabilities. I started working on my physique ten years ago. I have experimented with many forms of exercises. I’ve done Red Box workouts where you train with ropes and tires. I also have a black belt in Taekwondo.”

What’s his workout regime and diet like? “I wake up at 5.30 am everyday and workout from6.30 to 8 am. One and a half hour of cardio and weights every day. I only take 10 second breaks between every exercise. I don’t follow a specific diet, I eat ghar ka khaana (home-made food) everyday and once in a while I binge on everything. But I don’t eat typical unhealthy food at all. I have a poster in my bedroom that says ‘My stomach is not a dustbin’.”

Amit’s fitness icon is Bollywood’s fittest actor, Akshay Kumar. “He doesn’t take supplements, and the way he follows a fix schedule of sleeping, waking up, and training is extraordinary because not everyone can do it. It’s not about the body; it’s always about how strong and fit you are. And that is inspiring about him.”

Amit has a knack for performing stunts himself. He doesn’t need a stunt double. “Because I have been keeping myself fit, I don’t need someone else to perform stunts for me. When I was playing supercop in SuperCops vs SuperVillains, there was an act where I had to jump from a 1500 feet hill in Lonavala. I wore a harness and did it myself.”
