#ChildrensDay: 5 international movies that Bollywood needs to adapt

Bollywood doesn’t make many movies for kids alone. Apart from a few notable ones, there’s really nothing much to write home about. Well, on International Children’s Day today, we take a look at five international children’s movies that Bollywood needs to adapt…read on:

The Karate Kid (2010):

This classic underdog movie pits an American teen against a Chinese kid in a karate competition. While the former wins the big prize, it doesn’t come so easy to him because he has to master an art that the Chinese kid is a champ at! Phew. We love such masala flicks. So it wouldn’t be difficult to bring desi audiences to the screens. Are you listening, directors?

Home Alone:

It’s not just a must-watch holiday flick, but also one of the most intelligent and engaging kid movies to be ever made. With a little boy taking centre stage and owing the movies on his able shoulders sets this film apart from the rest by a mile. Re-making this movie would indeed be an interesting thing! What say, fans?

Cinderella:

Fairy-tales will come and go, but none can take Cinderella’s place. It’s one of the most fascinating tales that girls all over the world dream of. Every girl wants her prince to sweep her off her feet, right? With a bit of desi tadka, this movie can easily be adapted for Indian audiences.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory:

Kids love fantasy and chocolate. So what better than a flick that brings together these two ingredients, eh? With Bollywood exploiting special effects to the T, it would make for a rather awesome movie. No?

Finding Nemo:

A tale of trust and patience, this heart-warming movie explores the father-son relationship beautifully. With talks of a Hindi remake, it would make for a one helluva movie! May be real life father-son duo can do voiceovers in this adventure flick. Say what?
