The first half of 2014 has already whizzed past and Bollywood has already witnessed more than a dozen of newbies making their debut from the start of this year. Tellychakkar.com chronicles the newcomers who we feel could make a splash in the coming future and those who missed the bus.
Kriti Sanon - Kriti was the underdog since the spotlight was on Tiger Shroff in Heropanti. But the Delhi girl shone and how. Her tall lithe frame, fair skin, hourglass figure and decent acting was well appreciated. With Heropanti faring decently well at the box-office, her acting career seems to have taken off in the right direction as well especially after signing a film opposite Akshay Kumar.
Currently busy with - Films with Akshay and Tiger.
Tiger Shroff - Tiger Shroff was and still continues be the butt of all jokes and nasty memes. But to the young actor's credit, he has taken all of them with a pinch of salt. Tiger's action was well appreciated in Heropanti though in the acting department, Jackie's son still has a long way to go before he can match his illustrious father. But with the Shroff surname backing him, we feel he is in for a long haul here.
Currently busy with- Film with Kriti Sanon.
Farhad aka Freddy Daruwala - Super model turned actor, Farhad is the perfect head-turner. His debut as the main negative lead in Holiday opposite Akshay Kumar got him rave reviews. Not once in the movie was he overshadowed or relegated to the position of a side kick. His eyes shone of villainy and he proved to be the perfect bete noire for the macho Khiladi Kumar.
Currently busy with - Vipul Shah's next with Pooja Chopra.
Patralekha - She was known as Rajkummar Rao's girlfriend until CityLights gave her a new identity. Despite being from the East, Patralekha beautiful essayed the role of a poverty stricken Rajasthani housewife drawing in praise from none other than Mahesh Bhatt.
Currently busy with - Holidaying in Dubai.
Those who missed the mark
Himansh Kohli - The fair looking actor made his debut with a host of other new comers in Divya Kumar's Yaariyaan. The film did a business of about 30 crore but failed to do any good for Himansh who it seems is back to square one.
Shiv Darshan - Sunil Darshan launched his son, Shiv with great fanfare. Unfortunately, neither the film nor Shiv's acting hit the bull's eye. The film ran barely for a week and soon both Shiv and his film Karle Pyaar Karle were history.
Hasleen Kaur - A stunning model turned actress, Hasleen suffered the same fate as her co-star Shiv. She was back on the ramps after her Bollywood debacle.
Daisy Shah - One of the many flop girls whom Salman Khan launched. The film sank and Daisy was kicked out of Sallu bhai's heart. Last heard, she was hanging on the sets of Salman with the aim of impressing him. But Sallu bhai is currently busy doing Jhumme Ki Raat with Jacqueline Fernandes.
Sana Khan - Sana Khan in Jai Ho was as nonexistent as India's presence in the ongoing FIFA World Cup. Sana will need another debut to make an impact.
Bilal Amrohi - Another one of Salman's favourite. The movie tanked and Bilal went unnoticed. But with the Khan backing, we feel he would be back soon.
