After wooing film enthusiasts and dignitaries at IFFI, Subhash Ghai’s short film 'Gandhi' starring Manoj Bajpayee premieres on Waves OTT by DD

MUMBAI: After wooing audiences at the prestigious IFFI, Goa, iconic filmmaker Subhash Ghai's much-loved short film Gandhi premiered at  Waves OTT by DD.

Featuring the powerhouse performer Manoj Bajpayee, loved by stalwarts like Raju Hirani, Ketan Mehta, dignitaries from the Union Ministry, the 30-minute docu-drama explores Gandhi’s relevance in today’s world.

Raju Hirani, renowned filmmaker added about the film, “an informative, emotional, engaging and a brilliant film every child should see.”

Ketan Mehta, renowned filmmaker further shared about the film, "It introduces Gandhi in today’s context."

Rahlad Singh Patel, Union Minister, Govt. of India, reflected on the film, "Subhash Ghai’s   film on Gandhi’s ideology is a big contribution towards society."

It was part of 54th IFFI International Film Festival Goa as it premiered there, not only did the film receive appreciation from the film fanatics, it received  applause from the audiences, as well.

With real archival footage woven into the storytelling, 
Gandhi provides a cinematic journey that informs and ultimately connects audiences with Gandhi’s philosophy in a new light.  

Reflecting on the significance of the release, Subhash Ghai shared, “Mahatma Gandhi isn't just a leader but a moment that changed the course of history. His ideas of nonviolence and truth remain more relevant than ever in a world grappling with conflict. Through this film, I wanted to initiate a conversation, especially with the younger generation, about the depth of his philosophy beyond just historical events and what better than this solemn occasion to release on waves OTT by DD. I am grateful to Manoj Bajpayee for being a part of this journey and bringing his immense talent to the film."

Now streaming on Waves OTT by DD, Gandhi is a must-watch for anyone looking to explore the Mahatma’s ideals through a contemporary lens.
