Akshay Kumar announces new film ‘Raksha Bandhan’ on Rakhi day along with its first look, dedicates the film to his sister

The film is titled "Raksha Bandhan" and, sharing the first poster on Instagram, Akshay said he is dedicating the project to his sister, Alka Hiranandani.

MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar, who is on juggernaut run at the box office, recently took to social media to announce his next project on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The film which is titled as 'Raksha Bandhan' is expected to revolve around the bond between brother and sister.

Taking to Twitter, Akshay shared the first look of the film wherein he can be seen hugging his siblings as he flashes his infectious smile. He dedicates this film to his sister as he wrote"A story that touches your heart so deeply & so instantly,it’s the quickest I’ve signed a film in my career. Dedicating this film,#RakshaBandhan to my sister,Alka & to the most special bond in the world.. that of a brother and sister. Thank you @aanandlrai, this one is very special"

Aanand L Rai, who is also working with Akshay on 'Atrangi Re' which also features Sara Ali Khan and South superstar Dhanush is all set to direct 'Raksha Bandhan' as well. The film which will showcase the special bond of a brother and sister to the world is written by Himanshu Sharma.

The 'Rustom' actor, who has dedicated this film to his sister Alka will be releasing on Diwali next year i.e. November 5, 2021. Currently, Akshay has been spending quality at home with his family and his list of interesting upcoming projects is sure to leave all his fans excited.

Meanwhile, Akshay has also been quite active in the battle against the ongoing pandemic. He is reported to fly out soon to Scotland in private jets as he seems to be quite determined to resume work of his next project 'Bell Bottom'. Apart from that, Akshay's cop drama 'Sooryavanshi' with Katrina Kaif which is helmed by Rohit Shetty has been postponed due to the ongoing pandemic.
