MUMBAI: 'Kannappa' which is one of the most anticipated Telugu films will reportedly release in 2014. The film is being directed by Mukesh Kumar and has Vishnu Manchu, Akshay Kumar and reportedly Tamannaah Bhatia in pivotal roles. This film will mark the debut of Akshay in the South film industry. Vishnu had also taken to his social media feed, to reveal that the shooting of 'Kannappa' has been completed. He captioned the post, "What a shoot it has been with @akshaykumar. Learnt. Laughed. And now I am missing the action. I look forward to many more. #Kannappa".

Vishnu had also taken to his social media handle to post a reel that shows his first meeting with Akshay and the beautiful BTS moments. Manchu captioned the clip, "The #kannappa journey just got more thrilling as we welcome the Superstar Mr. Akshay Kumar to the Telugu Film Industry. Thrilled to announce his debut in Telugu cinema with Kannappa. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! #akshaykumar #telugufilmindustry".
According to an earlier report, published by ETimes, it was mentioned that the 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' star would essay the role of Lord Shiva and Kajal Aggarwal would be having an important role in the movie. It was also reported that Prabhas would be making a cameo appearance. Now, Tamannaah would be seen in the film, especially in a song sequence. 'Jawan' actress Nayanthara along with megastar Mohanlal would be playing major roles in the movie. Further reports mentioned, that the shooting of 'Kannappa' has taken place in Hyderabad and has been shot in Telugu. It would also be dubbed in many languages, before the film hits for a theatrical release. The music of the film is being composed by Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy.
