Akshay Kumar signs Tanisha for Marathi film Adhantari

Having created a status for himself with his hit films like Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Oh My God, Khiladi 786 and the recent Special 26, Akshay Kumar, in his aim to expand his reach in the regional cinema space is producing his second Marathi film Adhantari. In a brief chat with Tellychakkar.com, Kumar said, "I think it is important for any producer to back regional films. As for me, I have earlier made 72 Miles in Marathi and now I am making Paaji in Trouble in Punjabi and Adhantari in Marathi.” For this, he has roped in his sister-in-law Tanisha who has done mix of Bengali, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films including Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar and Sarkar Raj till 2011. The film, to be produced under the banner of Kumar and Ashwini Yardi’s Grazing Goat Pictures and directed by Gauri Karekar Sarwate, will have the 35-year-old actress play a vital role. It is understood that the film will be shot in Pune and London with Sumit Raghavan playing Tanisha's love interest. Tanisha debuted in Hindi cinema in 2003 with Ssshhh and has done some good films like Neil N Nikki with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra and a Bengali film Mukti with Tanuja, Soumitra Chatterjee and Vidya Balan.
