MUMBAI: Illegal season 3 actor Akshay Oberoi played Air Force officer Basheer Khan aka Bash in Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone's Fighter. The star has also been a part of films like Pizza, Piku, Gurgaon to name a few but he got a lot of love for playing IAF officer Basheer Khan in Fighter. During an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar, when the star was asked whether his career was shaped after Fighter.
"Maine Flesh kia Siddharth Anand ke saath tabh mujhe Fighter mili. Fighter ke baad mujhe lagta hai kaafi darwaze khul gaye and I keep hoping more doors keep opening", he said. Akshay further said, "Definitely even though I had worked in OTT for many many years, I keep saying this is called an industry for a reason. That means it is a business, dhandha hai, bottom line pe sab cheeze chalti hai. Agar aapki film chal gayi box office pe aur logo ne dekha hai usko toh then it feeds the OTT space. The OTT platforms are also changing. They also want stars. Earlier they were focusing on actors but now they want brand names. It helps and thank god it happened to me. I do not care about fame, or money; I am not motivated by those things. I am motivated by the work and the work opens up more and more when you get known and talent can only take you so far, unfortunately".
"That is a learning I had to have over the years. I thought sab mere kaam pe hi kaam milega. Then I realised ki nai yaar essei bhi parei cheeze hoti hai. But woh aapki destiny hai" he quipped.
