MUMBAI: One of the most well-known and celebrated singers in the Bollywood space is Alka Yagnik. She has once again made a name for herself in the Guiness Book of World Records for the third year in a row. She has come up as the most streamed singer of 2022 and has even beat some of the biggest singers in the world like Taylor Swift, Drake, and even Beyonce, and her numbers are way ahead of the others.

A report by a media portal said that the Guinness Book of World Records noticed that Alka’s songs had over 15.3 billion streams - an average of 42 million streams per day. Surprisingly, she has attained this achievement the last two years as well. She had around 17 billion streams in 2021 and 16.6 billion in 2020.

Subsequently, Bad Bunny grabbed the second spot with around 14.7 billion streams. The three remaining artists on the list are Indian singers - Udit Narayan (10.8 billion), Arijit Singh (10.7 billion), and Kumar Sanu (9.09 billion).

This list is a big surprise as not a single one of the global singers have been able to record such numbers.

Some of the other well-known artists on the list were - BTS (7.95 billion) and BLACKPINK (7.03 billion) both made the top ten, while The Weeknd (5.7 billion) took the 13th spot; Taylor Swift (4.33 billion) was 26th; and Drake (2.9 billion) was 50th, according to the media report.

For those who don’t know, Alka Yagnik is one of the foremost Bollywood playback singers in the 90s and has even recorded hundreds of songs to her regard. She has done playback singing for many well-known actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Sridevi and others.

A few of her significant hits include movies like Pardesi Pardesi, Gazab Ka Hai Din, Taal Se Taal Mila, and much recently, Agar Tum Saath Ho.
