Amitabh Bachchan in Bhootnath sequel

Throwing reports that the production house hasn't quite recovered from the back-to-back flops to the wind, B R Films has decided to go ahead with the sequel of Bhootnath that will again star Amitabh Bachchan. Some days ago, it was reported that the failure of its last release Bhoothnath (2008) had hurt the company really badly. The Amitabh Bachchan-starrer had followed Baabul (2006) that too didn’t do quite well at the box office.

Though producer Ravi Chopra could not be contacted as he is not keeping well, Bachchan confirmed that Bhoothnath 2 is among the films that he is in serious discussions for. “December-January onwards, I will start shooting for films in the pipeline like Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha, Sudhir Mishra’s Mehrunissa, Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla and Bhoothnath 2." This time, the original’s director Vivek Sharma will be replaced by Nitesh Tiwari, co-director of UTV Spotboy and Salman Khan’s hit film Chillar Party. Asked to elaborate on the film, Nitesh said that it was too early for him to comment. “It will take some time for things to get sorted because a lot of things have to fall into place." With this film, B R Films will be hoping for a much-needed hit.
