Amitabh Bachchan launches first look of Leader, skips official Q&A session with media

It was an uncharacteristic Amitabh Bachchan event that unfolded yesterday night at a suburban five star near his palatial residence. The occasion was the unveiling of Amitabh's make-up man Deepak Sawant's Hindi film Leader. For starters, the always punctual to a fault Big B arrived late and even had to make a dash to the venue on foot because of a traffic snarl. Wrapped in a shawl, Big B did look a bit under the weather perhaps a tad jet lagged after the long flight from Down Under. But the legend religiously went through the rigours of unveiling the trailer of Leader. Speaking about his long association with Deepak Sawant, Amitabh said, "Deepak has been taking care of my face for the last 40 years. So when he made a film, he gave me a small role in the movie and I couldn't in any way say no. This movie was earlier made in Bhojpuri and I hope this Hindi version too becomes a superhit." Deepak Sawant who has produced the movie grew emotional while talking about his bond with Amitabh and even fell to the legend's feet to receive his blessings. All looked hunky and dory till the emcee opened up the floor to the media for the mandatory Q&A session. A till then composed Amitabh almost immediately started exiting the podium in a huff. Requests for photo ops from lensmen made the superstar stop in his tracks for a few minutes and he soon left the venue as soon as shutterbugs were done with their job. Strange, we thought considering that Deepak Sawant is family, it was anybody's guess that Amitabh would stay back and answer media's questions. We were excited to talk to him and learn about his condition given the fact that he has been allegedly suffering from intestinal cancer, as reported exclusively by Tellychakkar.com. But that was not meant to be. Wonder why Amitabh chose to skip the Q&A session. Is the legend choosing to hide something. Only Amitabh can reveal.
