Anand Kumar wants Abhishek Bachchan for his next film, Meerut Junction

An excited Anand Kumar, whose film Zilla Ghaziabad opens today, has revealed that he is midway working on his next project Meerut Junction. He has also evinced interest to cast Abhishek Bachchan in the lead. The director feels that Jr Bachchan is one of the few actors who would look perfect in the role he has envisaged. "I am almost ready with the script of my next film 'Meerut Junction'. It is a very rural film and I want to cast Abhishek Bachchan in it. We are constantly in touch with him and even he has liked the script. If things fall in place, we will start rolling soon," Kumar said in a statement. "Abhishek is a wonderful actor and the role in 'Meerut Junction is a very rustic one. The character in the film would be similar to the role that Amitabh Bachchan played in Kaalia. We haven’t yet seen him playing such a kind of role earlier. So it would be apt to cast Abhishek in the film," he added. Kumar's debut film Delhi Heights, that released in 2007 had won him critical accolades despite lacking success at the box office. His next film Jugaad was also appreciated for its fast-paced storyline and good performances.
