MUMBAI: 8 years ago, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. After 8 long years, finally Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reached a settlement in their divorce.
Their love story started on the sets of the 2004 movie ‘Mr. & Mrs Smith’ where they met and got to know each other for the first time. At that time, Brad Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston, who divorced him that same year while Angelina was a single mother to her son Maddox, who she had adopted from Cambodia in 2002.

‘Brangelina’ announced their engagement in 2012 and got married in August 2014. However, in 2016, shortly after their second wedding anniversary, the couple filed for divorce. There was an incident from 2022 which was later revealed. It was revealed that Brad Pitt was allegedly “choking one of the children and striking another in the face”, he was also allegedly “pouring beer and red wine” on Jolie and the kids. Both the FBI and DCFS cleared the actor of wrongdoing.
In 2019, a judge ruled Angelina and Brad as legally single, and the duo spent several years finding a common ground with negotiating custody and figuring a way with finances. In May 2021, Pitt gained joint custody but due to conflict of interest, the decision was reversed just two months later.
In 2005, Pitt and Jolie travelled to Ethiopia where they adopted their daughter Zahara. In 2007, the couple adopted their Vietnamese son Pax. The following year, Angelina gave birth to her and Pitt’s fraternal twins – son Knox and daughter Vivienne. The ex-couple started Mirawal Wines and bought Château Miraval in France.
In October 2021, Angelina sold 50 percent of Mirawal Wines to Tenute Del Monto, the wine division of the Stoli Group. This didn’t sit well with Pitt and he sued the actress in February 2022 but Angelina filed a countersuit in September that year.
